With the colder weather approaching fast I have searched the internet for my top 5 free autumn knitting patterns; I hope you like them!
First up is these gorgeous scallop lace hat from Ruby Submarine. A really pretty modern design perfect for the cooler weather; this could be created in any colour although I am loving this colour!
Next we have these cute autumn leaves from My 1929 Charmer. These could be used for all different craft projects and would probably fun to get the kids involved too.
One of my big favourites has to be this easy knitted headband from A Stash Addict Blog. Perfect for the cold weather and look super cute on both children and adults,;love the idea of matching mother and daughter ones!
A must have for everyone’s autumn wardrobe this Stockholm scarf from All Free Knitting. Much nicer to have a hand knitted scarf in your choice of colour than to get a boring shop bought one!
And finally I have found these cute fable mitts from Just A Day Dream Arts. It’s always a good idea to have a nice pair of knitted gloves and even better when they are fingerless making using your phone etc still easy to use whilst keeping your fingers warm!
It’s Friday again so I have been on the hunt for my favourite free pattern of the week! Whilst browsing Pinterest I came across this incredibly cute owl pattern by Sarah over at Repeat Crafter Me.
This fab owl hat pattern is suitable from newborn size right up to adults and can be created in whatever colours you fancy; from soft pastel shades right up to multicoloured brights! The pattern has cute button details for the eyes and is finished with tassles on the top, you could even embellish the hats further if you wanted to make them a little bit more individual.
These would be ideal for the coming winter months and very popular for children for when they go back to school. The full free pattern can be found here, where Sarah has posted very good instructions including images to help you create the hat.

On our travels around the internet we stumbled upon a great post made by the telegraph giving out some free knitting patterns. According to the article, designers Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne had a huge success with their “Knit Your Own Dog & Cat” books. They have gone on to release another book called Knit Your Own Zoo. In This article they have kindly given out some of the zoo themed knitting patterns for free, so we thought we would share them with you. They would probably make a fantastic weekend project and we have the perfect wool for the job.
