If you love pies as much as we do, you’ll already know that 5 March marks the first day of British Pie Week 2018. What started out as a catchy marketing campaign by a ready-made pasty company has now turned into a national event. Pie sellers from all over the United Kingdom submit their encrusted inventions for a week-long celebration of the family favourite.
The actual awards take place on 7 March in Melton Mowbray, home of the pork pie. But if you can’t make it to the Leicestershire finals, how can you get involved? Why not bake a unique creation at home, or even host a pie party for friends and relatives?
Here’s a slice of our favourites to help you prepare that culinary masterpiece.
Get the professional look
You’ll look the part in this traditional chef hat, even if your pie-making skills are a little rusty. With an adjustable velcro strap at the back, one size fits all. Got a smaller baker at home? Our children’s chef hat is the perfect miniature version for your budding pastry chef.
Stay clean and stylish
Add to your look while battling the dough with one of our checked catering aprons. Machine washable and available in packs of one or five for home or professional use.
Once again, we’ve also got the kids covered with these adjustable white bib aprons. Available in two sizes and machine washable.
Say goodpie to the washing up
All that baking means a mountain of dirty pots to get through so attack the washing up like a pro with these linen blend tea towels. Linen is eco-friendly, absorbent, and non-scratch and you can even use the cloths to keep your pies warm while you clear away. Available as a multi-pack of 12 and are machine washable up to 95 degrees.
